Bloganuary prompt: Do you have a memory that’s linked to a smell?
What an interesting question. I know a lot of smells that trigger feelings. Some positive and some not so positive. For example, I enjoy the smell of freshly ground coffee beans. It makes me feel warm and comfortable. I suppose that feeling is linked to memories of coffees enjoyed in the past.
Cedar
The smell of cedar reminds me of hikes in the rainforest of Coastal British Columbia. I can’t walk by the cedar section of a hardware store without thinking of the giant cedars in BC’s old-growth forests.

Lebkuchen [Gingerbread]
Whenever I open a package of Lebkuchen at Christmas time I remember the time when I was younger and I was sent to the town in Germany for work and the whole town smelled like Lebkuchen… in August! The lebkuchen factory was baking products for the upcoming season.
