Bloganuary prompt: If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?
Pierre is a Chihuahua born on the streets of Mexico. Through some detours, he came to live with us in August of 2022.
Pierre loves the sun. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but while all the humans seek shade and cool breezes, the little dog can be found basking in the sun.
Unfortunately for Pierre, it gets pretty cold here in central British Columbia, Canada. We regularly get temperatures below -10 degrees Celsius and sometimes below -20.
Because little dogs still have to get out and get exercise and take care of bodily functions, we have all the gear: the tiniest boots for his feet and a whole wardrobe of coats and sweaters.
But he hates putting on winter wear. He loses the boots as soon as he can, and he sometimes hides when he sees me coming with the sweater to go out.
What we would like him to understand is:
The winter sweater and boots are for his own good!
